At the Council's Environment, Development and Transport Committee today the Tory administration caved in to pressure led by the Liberal Democrats and supported by Norfolk Labour and the Eastern Daily Press to remove the cuts to the rural bus services.

We are indebted to Norman lamb, Liberal Democrat MP for North Norfolk who organised a petition calling on the County Council to save local transport from the oncoming budget cuts.

But we couldn't have done it without you - over 6 thousand people signed the petition. It shows the strength of feeling in our local communities against these proposals.

Thank you to all of you who signed the petition.

We will be continuing to press the Conservative administration to keep their promise not to cut front line services.
